i have to admit that when i first saw solange knowles' shaved head i flipped and said some stank junk right out the mouth. but after getting used to it i might go as far as liking it. she shaved her head for all the right reasons and comming from a girl with short hair...it's a freedom kinda thing. especially in the black community HAIR IS EVERYTHING and theres almost a stereotype of beauty. i personaly think WE AS A PEOPLE let the grip of slavery hinder us from evolving into the powerful people we can become. we still let people outside our race tell us what beautiful is. all i know is that when im a mom...my child will never use the word nappy or the term good hair... its really just no need for it. like im even personaly working on myself that when i wake up i feel pretty all over again. like natural is beautiful and people need to get out of this putting chemicals in their hair to straighten it to look a certain way and even bleaching their skin and stuff. BEAUTY COMES IN ALL SHAPES SIZES COLORS AND TEXTURES.... and with that being said. SOLANGE KNOWLES YOU ARE AMAZING AND KEEP DOING YOU. YOUR REALLY CHANGING HOW *SOME* THINK. and that is the beautiful start to something major.
one day i definitely plan on going natural. it's a freedom kinda thing.
